Platinum item rules

TMs are single-use; HMs are reusable, but field use requires the appropriate badge. A held item takes the Pokémon’s single item slot. Most consumed held items must be replaced after ordinary battles. Hidden pickups require you to face their tile and press A; the Dowsing Machine helps locate them.

Berries, trades and special items

Plant and water Berries in soft soil to grow another crop; Berries can also become Poffins. Wild held items are not guaranteed: catch the Pokémon or use an eligible item-stealing move. Pal Park migration requires a DS or DS Lite with a compatible GBA cartridge. Past Mystery Gift distributions have ended; event notes describe their original availability. Pal Park supplies Park Balls during its Catching Show, rather than as normal Bag items.

Pokétch tools

Get the Pokétch in Jubilife City by collecting the three clown coupons. Lucas or Dawn adds the Dowsing Machine app on Route 207. These are wrist-device features rather than separate Bag items, so they do not have inventory sprites in the catalogue.
