Oreburgh and Eterna
Begin by visiting Professor Rowan in Sandgem Town, then travel through Jubilife toward Oreburgh. Find Roark in the mine before challenging his Gym. After the first badge, return toward Jubilife and head north through Floaroma and Eterna Forest. In Eterna, the Gym and Team Galactic building are separate objectives.
Hearthome comes before Veilstone
Platinum lets you battle Fantina on your first main visit to Hearthome. This differs from Diamond and Pearl. Prepare a response to Ghost attacks, then continue through Solaceon toward Veilstone. Clear Maylene’s Gym and help recover the stolen Pokédex before treating the city as finished.
Pastoria and the road to Celestic
After Crasher Wake, follow the Team Galactic incident outside the Great Marsh. Cynthia’s medicine resolves the Psyduck roadblock on Route 210. Deliver the Old Charm in Celestic Town. These events are story requirements, not optional detours that another Gym badge can replace.
Canalave, the lakes and Snowpoint
After Byron, visit the library and follow the events at the lakes. The northern route to Snowpoint is a long expedition: stock healing items and keep an answer to Ice types. Return to the Team Galactic storyline after Candice instead of searching immediately for the final Gym.
Finish Galactic’s plot before Sunyshore
The Veilstone headquarters, Mt. Coronet and Distortion World precede normal access to the last stretch. Save before major legendary encounters. After resolving this arc, challenge Volkner and prepare for Victory Road. Keep field-move access available until you reach the League’s healing point.
Check the edition note above before following a route. Suggested preparation and tactics are editorial recommendations; alternative teams and routes can also work.
