retrogameindex is an independent wiki for classic console games. The library contains 49 game hubs and 334 reference guides, including a separately labelled retro-style game. Every game includes introductory and expanded guides covering progression, mechanics or collection planning. Coverage is selective rather than an exhaustive walkthrough or item database. It is not an official publication of any game developer.

Editorial approach

Articles link to their references. Practical planning recommendations are editorial suggestions, not promises of optimal results. Guides focus on established mechanics, with original releases and remaster differences labelled. Public editing and user accounts are not currently available.

Game artwork & editions

Game covers and identifying artwork belong to their respective rights holders. Images are bundled with this website. Paired editions may use representative cover artwork; regional packaging can vary. Artwork does not imply publisher endorsement.

Original releases

Years refer to each game’s first release, not necessarily its release in your region. Each game hub lists its original system and first-release year. Paired Pokémon versions share a hub; Black/White and Black 2/White 2 have separate hubs. Terraria is included as a retro-style title.

Advertising

The manually placed advertising spaces are labelled previews. The Google AdSense script is also installed; ad delivery depends on the AdSense account settings and approval.
