Reusable TMs
Flexible move selection. Generation V makes ordinary TMs reusable. Experiment with coverage between battles, but remember that overwriting a move can still require a reminder service to recover it.
C-Gear
Communication features. Several features were designed around connectivity. The main story does not require historical online services, so distinguish local adventure objectives from discontinued network activities.
Dowsing Machine
Hidden pickups. Use directional clues during exploration. Recheck side paths after the story gives you access rather than repeatedly searching an unreachable signal.
Lucky Egg
Experience boost. Give this to the Pokémon you are actively developing. Rotate it between trainees; it is a training choice rather than an automatic best item for a boss.
Eviolite
Defensive held item. It benefits Pokémon that can still evolve. Check eligibility before equipping it to a fully evolved partner, and compare the defensive benefit with evolving the Pokémon.
Evolution stones
Species-specific evolution. Use the correct stone only after checking the Pokémon’s move-learning plan. Stone evolution is not a substitute for every species’ level, friendship or trade requirements.
