Inventory Items

Deku Stick
Child Link can swing this wooden weapon or light it from a flame to carry fire between torches.

Deku Nut
A flash stuns many enemies, creating an opening to attack or retreat.

Bomb
Timed explosive used against enemies and cracked walls. Carrying bombs requires a Bomb Bag.

Fairy Bow
Adult Link's ranged weapon, found in the Forest Temple. Uses arrows and supports elemental arrow upgrades.

Fire Arrow
An arrow that ignites targets and consumes magic. Shoot toward the rising sun from the Lake Hylia platform.

Din's Fire
Magic that surrounds Link with an expanding burst of flame, damaging enemies and lighting nearby torches.

Fairy Slingshot
Child Link's seed-firing weapon from the Deku Tree. Useful for eye switches and distant enemies.

Ocarina of Time
Zelda's royal instrument replaces the Fairy Ocarina and is used to play songs throughout the adventure.

Bombchu
A moving explosive that travels along surfaces after release. Aim its path before letting it go.

Longshot
Water Temple upgrade with twice the Hookshot's reach. Pulls Link toward suitable targets and retrieves distant objects.

Ice Arrow
Optional Gerudo Training Ground reward. Consumes magic to freeze susceptible enemies.

Farore's Wind
Dungeon spell that sets a return point, allowing Link to warp back to it later.

Boomerang
Child Link's returning weapon from Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Stuns enemies, cuts tentacles and retrieves items.

Lens of Truth
Reveals hidden paths, false walls and invisible enemies while consuming magic. Found in the Bottom of the Well.

Magic Bean
Plant in soft soil as a child; return as an adult to ride the grown plant to new areas.

Megaton Hammer
Fire Temple tool used to break obstacles, activate heavy switches and fight Volvagia.

Light Arrow
Zelda grants these late in the story. Their magic is crucial when confronting Ganondorf.

Nayru's Love
A protective spell from the Desert Colossus Great Fairy. Prevents damage temporarily, but attacks can still knock Link back.

Bottle (#1)
Reusable container for potions, fairies, fish, bugs, milk, fire and captured spirits. Four bottles can be obtained. Earned from Talon’s Cucco game.

Bottle (#2)
Reusable container for potions, fairies, fish, bugs, milk, fire and captured spirits. Four bottles can be obtained. Earned by gathering the Cucco Lady’s seven birds.

Bottle (#3)
Reusable container for potions, fairies, fish, bugs, milk, fire and captured spirits. Four bottles can be obtained. Found with Ruto’s letter in Lake Hylia.

Bottle (#4)
Reusable container for potions, fairies, fish, bugs, milk, fire and captured spirits. Four bottles can be obtained. Earned by selling ten Big Poes.

Biggoron Sword Trading Quest Items slot
The adult trading slot holds the current object in the exchange sequence leading to Biggoron's Sword.

Mask Salesman Trading Quest Items slot
The child trading slot holds masks and other quest objects as Link advances the trading sequence.
Other Inventory Items and Icons

Fairy Ocarina
Saria's farewell gift to Link. Plays the early songs before Zelda's Ocarina of Time replaces it.

Hookshot
Earned by racing Dampé's ghost. Grapples onto suitable targets, retrieves objects and stuns certain enemies.

Bow and Fire Arrows (The Fire Arrows when equipped)
Inventory display for the bow with Fire Arrows selected; each magical shot also spends an arrow.

Bow and Ice Arrows (The Ice Arrows when equipped)
Inventory display for the bow with Ice Arrows selected; effective against enemies vulnerable to freezing.

Bow and Light Arrows (The Light Arrows when equipped)
Inventory display for the bow with Light Arrows selected; important in the final confrontation.

Sold Out (Takes the place of a sold Mask)
Status icon shown after selling a borrowed mask, before settling the sale with the Happy Mask Salesman.
Bottled Items

Red Potion
Bottled medicine that restores health when consumed.

Green Potion
Bottled medicine that refills Link's magic meter.

Blue Potion
Bottled medicine that restores both health and magic.

Lon Lon Milk
A bottle contains two servings, each restoring five hearts. Obtained through ranch activities and other sources.

Lon Lon Milk (half bottle)
A bottle contains two servings, each restoring five hearts. Obtained through ranch activities and other sources.

Fairy
Can be bottled for healing. A carried fairy can revive Link automatically when his health is depleted.

Fish
Catch one in a bottle and release it before Jabu-Jabu to gain entry as a child.

Bug
Bottled bugs can be released into soft soil to uncover Gold Skulltulas.

Blue Fire
Capture this cold flame in a bottle to melt red ice, including the ice around King Zora.

Poe Soul
A spirit captured after defeating a Poe. The Poe Collector purchases these bottled spirits.

Big Poe Soul
Captured from horseback encounters in Hyrule Field. Sell all ten to the Poe Collector to earn a bottle.

Letter
Ruto's message is found in a bottle in Lake Hylia. Show it to King Zora to advance the rescue.
Quest Items
Masks

Keaton Mask
First mask in the sales sequence. The Death Mountain Trail gatekeeper buys it for his son.

Skull Mask
Sell this mask to the Skull Kid in the Lost Woods as part of the mask trading sequence.

Spooky Mask
The boy in Kakariko Graveyard buys this mask, letting Link continue the mask sales quest.

Bunny Hood
Sell to the Running Man in Hyrule Field. This version does not grant Link the remake sequel's running-speed ability.

Mask of Truth
Unlocked after completing the mask sales. Reveals Gossip Stone messages and elicits special reactions.

Goron Mask
An optional borrowed mask that changes how characters react to Link. It does not transform him.

Zora Mask
An optional mask from the Happy Mask Shop. Wear it to hear different character responses.

Gerudo Mask
An optional mask available after the main mask sales sequence. Used for character reactions rather than transformation.
Biggoron Trading Sequence

Pocket Egg
Starts the adult trading sequence. The Cucco Lady asks Link to hatch it and make the bird happy.

Pocket Cucco
Hatches from the Pocket Egg. Wake Talon with it, then return to the Cucco Lady.

Cojiro
A blue Cucco traded to the Master Craftsman's Son in the Lost Woods for an Odd Mushroom.

Odd Mushroom
A timed trading item. Deliver it from the Lost Woods to Granny's potion shop before it spoils.

Odd Potion
Granny makes this from the Odd Mushroom. Take it back to the Lost Woods to continue the trade.

Poacher's Saw
Trade this to the Master Craftsman in Gerudo Valley for the broken sword.

Broken Goron's Sword
Bring the broken blade to Biggoron, who needs treatment for his eyes before working on it.

Prescription
Biggoron's request for eye medicine. King Zora exchanges it for an Eyeball Frog.

Eyeball Frog
Deliver this fragile ingredient quickly from King Zora to the Lakeside Laboratory.

World's Finest Eye Drops
Medicine made by the Lake Scientist. Carry it to Biggoron before the time limit expires.

Claim Check
Proof that Biggoron is repairing the sword. Return after the required waiting period to collect the finished weapon.
Swords

Kokiri Sword
Child Link's sword, found in a chest beyond the crawlspace in the Forest Training Center.

Master Sword
The sacred blade in the Temple of Time. Drawing and returning it connects Link's child and adult eras.

Biggoron's Sword
Powerful two-handed blade earned through the adult trading quest. Unlike the Giant's Knife, it does not break.

Giant's Knife
Medigoron's purchasable two-handed sword. It breaks with use and is separate from Biggoron's durable blade.

Broken Giant's Knife
The damaged form of the Giant's Knife remains usable with drastically reduced reach and power.

Deku Shield
Child Link's wooden shield. Blocks suitable attacks but can burn when exposed to fire.

Hylian Shield
A metal shield used by both ages. Child Link crouches beneath it; adult Link holds it normally.

Mirror Shield
Spirit Temple equipment that reflects beams of light and Twinrova's elemental attacks.

Darunia's gift to child Link. Provides the strength needed to lift Bomb Flowers.

Silver Gauntlets

Late-game strength upgrade found in Ganon's Castle. Lets adult Link lift enormous stone pillars.

Zora's Sapphire, given by Ruto after the rescue inside Jabu-Jabu.

Light Medallion
Rauru's medallion, received when Link awakens as the adult Hero of Time.

Forest Medallion
Awarded when Saria awakens as the Forest Sage after Phantom Ganon's defeat.

Fire Medallion
Awarded when Darunia awakens as the Fire Sage after Volvagia's defeat.

Water Medallion
Awarded when Ruto awakens as the Water Sage after Morpha's defeat.

Shadow Medallion
Awarded when Impa awakens as the Shadow Sage after Bongo Bongo's defeat.

Spirit Medallion
Awarded when Nabooru awakens as the Spirit Sage after Twinrova's defeat.

Gerudo Token
Membership card awarded after rescuing the carpenters. Allows free movement around Gerudo's Fortress.

Stone of Agony
Reward for twenty Gold Skulltula tokens. Uses the Nintendo 64 Rumble Pak to signal nearby hidden grottoes.

Piece of Heart
Collect four pieces to add one full Heart Container to Link's maximum health.

Token
Proof of defeating a Gold Skulltula. Collect these to lift the family's curse and claim rewards.
Map Subscreen

Boss Key
Opens the large locked door leading to a dungeon's boss chamber.

Compass
Marks important dungeon treasures and the boss location on the map.

Dungeon Map
Reveals the dungeon layout, helping Link plan routes through unexplored rooms.

Small Key
Unlocks a small locked door in the dungeon where it was found.
