Star Coins & secrets
Plan a return trip for 240 Star Coins and the hidden world routes.

Three coins per course
Three large Star Coins are hidden in each of the 80 courses. Spend them to open marked routes and work toward full completion.

Unlock Luigi
Hold L and R while selecting your saved game to play as Luigi. His abilities match Mario’s in the original Nintendo DS game.
Find Worlds 4 and 7
Finish the World 2 castle boss as Mini Mario or Mini Luigi for World 4. Finish the World 5 castle boss in Mini form for World 7. Bring a Mini Mushroom in reserve if you want more flexibility.
A useful cleanup order
First finish the story, then revisit branching routes and missing Star Coins. Check each world’s map as you go. This is a completion overview; individual coin-by-coin course walkthroughs are outside this page.
