Castle progression and the inverted castle
Find the route beyond Richter and avoid ending your exploration prematurely.

Explore from the entrance outward
After the opening sequence, explore the Alchemy Laboratory and Marble Gallery, then expand toward the Outer Wall and Long Library. Save rooms restore you and create reliable staging points. Buy the Jewel of Open from the Librarian when you need to pass the blue magically sealed doors.
Use relics to reopen earlier routes
Leap Stone adds a second jump, while mist and bat transformations solve different barriers. Check whether a relic is enabled if an expected ability is missing. Revisit the library and upper castle after acquiring movement upgrades; the map is designed around returning with new tools.
Collect both rings
The Gold Ring comes from the Succubus encounter reached through the nightmare area in the Underground Caverns. The Silver Ring lies beyond the spike passage associated with the Royal Chapel route; acquire the protection needed to cross it. Read both ring descriptions for the clock-room clue.
Obtain and equip the Holy Glasses
Wear both rings in the large clock room in the Marble Gallery to open the route below, then meet Maria and obtain the Holy Glasses. Equip the glasses for the Richter encounter. Attack the controlling orb revealed by the glasses rather than defeating Richter if you want the route to the inverted castle.
Explore the second castle
The inverted castle changes navigation and enemy difficulty. Collect the five Vlad relics from its bosses to reach the final confrontation. Keep exploring for equipment and map coverage, but do not confuse merely reaching Richter with completing the full Alucard adventure. This route describes the original PlayStation game.
