Progression milestones
- First day
- Finish Nook's introductory jobs, meet everyone, buy available tools.
- First week
- Donate new finds, start an orchard, check both shops daily, begin friendships.
- Early progress
- Expand the house, upgrade Nook's shop, obtain the golden shovel.
- Regular play
- Attend K.K. performances, meet visitors, breed flowers, collect seasonal wildlife.
- Longer-term goals
- Complete the museum, obtain golden tools, earn photographs, finish special furniture collections.
- Completionist play
- Fill the catalog, gather music and gyroids, pursue HRA and loyalty rewards.
Daily routine
- Read mail and the bulletin board.
- Look for visitors.
- Check shop stock and turnip prices.
- Talk to villagers and complete manageable requests.
- Water wilted flowers and any red turnip.
- Dig marked spots and check the money rock.
- Donate new discoveries.
- Spend remaining time on the current season's fish, bugs, or events.
- Save before quitting.
