Sevii Islands and legendary checklist

Understand the original GBA postgame and separate normal encounters from historical event access.

Spoiler notice: This guide discusses story progression or late-game content.

Edition covered

Game Boy Advance remakes; not the original Red/Blue or Let’s Go games.

01

Finish the first island trip

Bill can take you to the first three Sevii Islands after Blaine. Complete the Two Island and Three Island errands, including finding Lostelle, rather than leaving the visit half-finished. The Tri-Pass supports travel to this initial island group.

02

Unlock the wider island route

After the League, the National Pokédex requires at least 60 caught species in the original games. Work with Celio on One Island, obtain the Ruby at Mt. Ember and receive the Rainbow Pass for the later islands. Seeing a species is not the same as catching it for this requirement.

03

Recover the Sapphire

The later island quest involves Icefall Cave, the Dotted Hole and Team Rocket’s warehouse. Follow the password and gem storyline through to completion, then return the gems to Celio. Do not confuse this network-machine quest with merely obtaining the National Pokédex.

04

Plan ordinary legendary encounters

Articuno is associated with Seafoam Islands, Zapdos with the Power Plant and Moltres with Mt. Ember. Mewtwo becomes a late postgame target in Cerulean Cave. Save before interacting with a stationary legendary, bring enough balls and avoid poison or other residual damage that can cause an accidental knockout.

05

Distinguish event-only destinations

Birth Island and Navel Rock originally required distributed event tickets on GBA. They are not normal rewards for filling the Pokédex or beating the League repeatedly. Later rereleases may change access; this guide does not assume their additions exist on an original cartridge.

FIELD NOTE
