Custom emblems
The emblem editor lets you draw a design for your kart or use a preset. Emblems identify racers visually, and their shape on the vehicle depends on where the decal is placed.
Place in the series
Mario Kart DS established the familiar Shell, Banana, Leaf and Lightning Retro Cup set. It introduced Blooper, Bullet Bill and Triple Bananas as items, included R.O.B. as a racer, and brought Mission Mode to the series.
Development material
The source also documents prototype courses and unused assets. These are development material, separate from the released course and kart lists. Its explanations for why material was removed are not treated here as confirmed developer statements.
