Ethan / Lyra
Player and neighbouring trainer. The unselected protagonist appears as a supporting character. These remakes have their own scenes and systems beyond the original Gold and Silver.
Professor Elm
Starter and breeding researcher. Elm supplies your first partner and remains a key story contact. Respond to important calls when an event appears to have stalled.
Silver
Recurring rival. His aggressive approach contrasts with the player’s journey. Prepare for his developing team rather than only the starter matchup.
Lance
Dragon specialist and ally. Lance assists with Team Rocket and later serves as Champion. His Dragon-themed roster is not composed entirely of pure Dragon types.
Kimono Girls
Ecruteak performers. Their encounters connect to the legendary Pokémon story. Heal before consecutive battles and finish their required events before expecting every late-game route to open.
Red
Optional late-game opponent. Found at Mt. Silver after extensive progression, he is a separate preparation goal from the first League clear. Bring a fully trained team and weather-aware tactics.
