Plan upgrades around crop care and distinguish field tools from animal-care tools.

Hoe
Preparing soil. Till only what you can water and maintain. Larger upgraded coverage is useful when the field layout leaves access for harvesting in the original GBA game.
Watering can
Daily crop care. Capacity and charged coverage improve through upgrades. Schedule blacksmith work around rain or a low-demand period so growing crops are not neglected.
Axe and hammer
Clearing wood and stone. Upgraded tools handle tougher obstacles. Match your tool level to the object instead of wasting stamina on debris you cannot yet break.
Sickle
Clearing plants and cutting grass. Useful for harvesting fodder and removing unwanted growth. Check the target carefully before swinging near valuable crops.
Fishing rod
Fishing income and collection. Obtained from Zack under the relevant visit conditions. Fishing develops separately from ordinary field work and can fit around the farm’s daily chores.
Brush, milker and shears
Animal care and products. These serve different species and tasks. Carry the relevant care tool before entering the barn rather than spending time shuffling an overloaded rucksack.
Ore and experience
Blacksmith requirements. Tool upgrades require suitable experience, ore and payment. Mining a rare ore alone does not make an inexperienced tool ready for the corresponding upgrade.
Cursed and blessed tools
Advanced optional upgrades. These have special conditions and drawbacks. Consult the exact tool’s cleansing requirement before equipping it; ordinary blacksmith upgrading is not the whole process.
