Weapons
Character-specific attack tools. Compare the weapon’s special effect as well as its displayed power. A critical-focused or unusual weapon may behave differently from a straightforward upgrade.
Armour and helmets
Defence and special protection. Keep resistance gear for encounters that reward it. Selling every older piece immediately can remove a useful answer to a later elemental threat.
Accessories
One-slot specialisation. Choose between speed, offensive bonuses, MP savings and other effects. Revisit the decision when a character shifts from attacking to support.
Gold Stud / Golden Stud
Reduced Tech MP cost. Its name varies by release. Useful on a frequent caster, but an MP-saving accessory does not help a character who mostly uses normal attacks.
Speed Tab / Speed Capsule
Permanent speed improvement. Names differ between translations. Consider who acts most often in your preferred party before spending limited permanent-stat items.
Shelter
Save-point recovery. Restores the party at eligible locations. Carry a reserve before a long dungeon and use it before the boss instead of entering with depleted MP.
Elixir and Megaelixir
Full recovery resources. These are valuable emergency items. Save some for demanding encounters, but do not lose a long battle merely to preserve every rare consumable.
Sealed chests
Era-linked treasure decisions. Some treasures interact across time. Inspect a chest in the earlier era before making the later-era collection decision, and consult the specific chest route before opening both casually.
