A starter guide to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: fill in your sea chart, check the wind, open charts before searching, separate original and hd instructions.

Fill in your sea chart
Carry All-Purpose Bait and offer it to Fishmen near islands to add information to your chart. Mapping as you travel makes later searches easier to organise.
Check the wind
The original game asks you to manage wind direction while sailing. Set your direction before a long crossing and group nearby destinations into one trip.
Open charts before searching
Treasure Charts point to sunken chests. Open the relevant chart and compare its island outline with your sea chart, then use the boat’s salvage equipment at the marked location.
Separate original and HD instructions
The HD edition changes parts of sailing and the Triforce hunt. Confirm the edition before following late-game collection instructions.
